Inland Waterways

The St. John’s River brought hunters, planters, developers and East Coast tourists to central Florida. Today the river is tranquil and untouched running 352 miles from Melbourne to Jacksonville and the Atlantic. We cruise an area where the clear waters of the Wekiva River meet the tannin colored waters of the St. John’s River. One of the slowest rivers in the world, the river has countless tributaries, inlets, oxbows and lakes that support a burgeoning ecosystem. Birds, manatees, fish and alligators abound!

The Intracoastal

The Intracostal Waterway (ICW) encircles the continental US. In Florida, the ICW is the Ocean’s nursery. Here huge numbers of fish, mammals and birds raise their young. On this tour, you will see fish,

birds including the  brown pelican and osprey, manatees, crabs and dolphins in the aquamarine water. On land white beaches give way to beach scrub and estuarine waters on the barrier islands. While wooded shores of the western side provide cover and homes to inland as well as beach type wildlife.
